Copper Nickel bars, which are generally 90% copper and 10% nickel, provide superior corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments. The alloy includes small proportions of iron and manganese for added strength and durability. It has the mechanical properties of high tensile strength, usually around 520 MPa and good elongation. It also shows good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and biofouling. Physically, Copper Nickel has high thermal and electrical conductivity, low expansion and high thermal stability. It is thus best suited for marine, chemical, and heat exchanger applications.
