Copper-nickel forged fittings are generally 90% copper and 10% nickel and have outstanding resistance to corrosion, especially in sea water conditions. The formulation could also involve the presence of iron and manganese traces for additional strength and hardness. Mechanically, the fittings are highly tensile, commonly having a range of 550-750 MPa, and possessing good elongation, typically in the range of 30-40%. The fittings also possess remarkable hardness levels, often with a range of 150 to 200 HB. Physically, the copper-nickel alloys contain a density of approximately 8.9 g/cm³ with great thermal and electrical conductivity, which makes them suitable for challenging applications.
