Copper nickel pipe fittings consist mostly of copper (Cu) with nickel (Ni) content from 10% to 30%, sometimes including minor amounts of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) for strength and corrosion resistance. The fittings have good resistance to seawater corrosion, high thermal conductivity and good mechanical properties. The mechanical properties consist of high tensile strength, usually around 550 MPa and good ductility. Physically, they are noted for a very high density of about 8.9 g/cm³ and low thermal coefficient of expansion, which makes them suitable for marine and industrial applications.
