Copper nickel pipes are made mainly of copper and nickel with the common compositions ranging between 90% copper and 10% nickel, at times containing minute proportions of iron and manganese to ensure higher strength and resistance to corrosion. Their mechanical properties include tensile strength of a high order, normally in the range of 300-550 MPa, and satisfactory elongation. Copper nickel pipes show outstanding resistance to marine corrosion, erosion and biofouling. Physical, copper nickel pipes are non-magnetic with a density of about 8.9 g/cm³ and exhibit excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. They also resist weakening at high temperatures, so they are perfectly suited for tough environments.
