Copper-Nickel valves, normally in 90/10 (90% copper and 10% nickel) or 70/30 (70% copper and 30% nickel) forms possess high corrosion resistance, particularly in sea water environments. Their mechanical characteristics consist of tensile strength between 310-550 MPa, yield strength of 105-240 MPa and elongation of 30-40%. They have a Brinell hardness of 80-130 HB. Physically they possess a density of 8.94 g/cm³, thermal conductivity of 50-70 W/m·K and have a melting point of approximately 1100°C. Their properties render Copper-Nickel valves suitable for seawater systems desalination facilities and heat exchangers.
